This role is responsible for leading a regional team of Field Patient Services Coordinators (PSCs) who are the main point of contact to MS patients in the process of initiating therapy. (NOTE: this team will not engage in the practice of nursing.) The Area Leader will hire, train, and manage the role responsibilities of the Patient Services Coordinators to optimize the patient experience through therapy initiation and ongoing support, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes. The Area Leader will be responsible for ensuring that Patient Services Coordinator activities are compliant with Novartis policies and procedures. The Area Leader will also support the growth & development of the PSC team; and coordination of cross-functional collaboration across NPS to enhance the program and patient experience.
The role will be remote. The Area Leader will lead and manage a team that engages with patients virtually, as well as support occasional reactive engagement with MS offices to educate on our services.
This position will be covering both Eastern and Central Time Zones and the candidate must reside within a State within those time zones.
The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 10-20% travel.
Your key responsibilities:
*Hiring, training, leading, and providing direction to a dedicated team of remote, virtual Field PSCs consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements
*Continually support, coach, and develop PSCs, including training on marketplace and therapeutic area dynamics, managing performance against set objectives, and evaluating program effectiveness
*Managing a region to ensure appropriate coverage and support
*Work cross-functionally across NPS to develop and implement program changes and enhancements
*Act as a liaison to the Access & Reimbursement Leader(s) in their region
*Ensuring compliance with Novartis policies and procedures, and full integration into the Novartis culture and valuesMinimum requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree: Nursing Degree (RN, NP) with active licensure in state in which they reside; MS and/or MSNC a plus
*5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or related/applicable industry
*People and/or Brand Management experience
*Experience managing field teams in a specialty category preferred, clinical educator field team is a plus
*Strong compliance mindset, high level of integrity and ethical judgment
*Strong ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally within a matrix environment
*Understanding of privacy laws and regulations including HIPAA and similar state laws
Preferred Qualifications:
*Strong leadership, coaching, collaboration, planning & organization, analytics, decision making and problem-solving skills
*Experience with and knowledge of access, distribution, and reimbursement in a specialty category a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between 130,400.00 and $195,600/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave.
