Essential Job
Functions:
1. Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness,
and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
2. Assist with overseeing the operation of the Student Activity Fee Accounts
Office, ensuring the Office is staffed, open, and well-functioning.
3. Serves as co-advisor to the PanSGA student government
association and prepares financial reports.
4. Reports to management regarding the finances of assigned unit(s).
5. Develops,
maintains, and analyzes budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted revenues and expenses to actuals.
6. Interprets
budget directives and ensures compliance.
7. Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep
financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
8. Prepares and reviews purchase orders, check requests, expense reports,
journal entries, and budget transfers. Ensures accuracy and approves/denies requests.
9. Compiles budget data and documents, based on
estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
10. Reviews operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs and
takes corrective action, when needed.
11. Analyzes monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure
controls.
12. Provides advice and/or technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
13.
Summarizes budgets and submits recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests.
14. Seeks new ways to improve
efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profits.
15. Assists in implementing yearly objectives and measurable metrics for the
unit.
16. Interprets, implements, and communicates, university or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in
conjunction with management.
17. Serves as a backup for the management of the Student Activity Fee Accounts Office’s Electronic
Payment Systems in conjunction with the Treasury department including daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
18. Serves as the Ariba and
Concur back-up to the Director of Finance for Center of Finance approver on all financial transactions in the division.
19. Compiles
statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts
payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
20. Responds to inquiries and resolves discrepancies involving complex financial
transactions in a timely manner, requiring a thorough understanding of work-area policies and procedures.
21. Acts as liaison with
other departments, divisions, or organizations.
22. Assists in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of student employees and
graduate assistants.
23. Completes special projects as assigned.
24. Performs other duties as assigned or
required.
