The Surgical/Trauma ICU is a fast-paced 15-bed intensive care unit in a level 1 facility comprised of surgical and trauma adult critical care patients. The surgical critical care team manages post-operative patients having undergone emergency or highly complex surgical procedures and now requiring continuous, intensive monitoring and interventions. The trauma critical care team manages patients with traumatic injuries from many different mechanisms. Many patients in the STICU have multi-system conditions requiring our team members to be highly competent and engaged. Our CNA’s are valuable members of the team that work with our patients by assisting with activities of daily living, increasing the mobility of our patients, and coordinating with nurses to provide high quality care.
Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient’s home.
Position Compensation Range: $13.12 – $20.34 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Assistant certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing or Student nurses who have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
