Job Description
Collaborates with the leadership in overseeing nursing practices, patient care delivery and human and fiscal resources. Assists in ensuring high quality and cost effective patient care within regulatory and professional standards. Responsible for overall coordination of assessment, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the operations of multiple departments and functions.
Job Responsibility
Collaborates with senior administration in planning strategic goals and objectives, implementation and evaluation of operations and outcomes of responsible departments.
Provides advice and guidance to Nurse Managers and Clinical Leadership
Selects, develops, manages and evaluates nurse leaders.
Collaborates with the senior nurse leadership to establish and ensure staff compliance to nursing care standards
Ensures adherence to the standards of practice and scope of practice and has oversight of the model of care for responsible departments
Assists in developing and implementing policies, standards and programs that support and facilitate the clinical practice of nursing and quality improvement programs.
Strives to streamline operations and effectively apply new concepts and techniques for positive outcomes; Identifies and implements technology to improve operations.
Forecasts, establishes and maintains a financial plan for nursing management.
Coordinates and oversees the development, preparation and monitoring of each departments’ annual personnel, supply and equipment budgets by department directors.
Coordinates and oversees reporting to the Office of Professional Discipline
Monitors budgetary variances and progress in budget performance and communicates to department and administration.
Collaborates with the leadership in planning and implementing educational programs to enhance professional self-esteem.
Ensures continual compliance of responsible departments with all internal and external rules and regulations and makes certain these are properly addressed in policy and procedure In partnership with physicians and health care community, develops or revises new/alternate clinical programs which are cost effective and will enhance the quality of patient care.
Job Qualification
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field required. Bachelors or Masters must be in Nursing.
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
