Job Description:
POSITION: Full-Time SOAR Coach (2 available positions): Special Programs Coordinator; Student Development; SOAR; This position will work both in the Haverhill Campus and the Lawrence Campus; 45 Franklin Street Lawrence, MA 01840; MCCC/MTA Unit Professional Position; 37.5 hours/week, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Occasional evening hours. Hours may be adjusted and compensated in alignment with contractual guidelines); Pay Grade 4; State Allocated Position
SUMMARY: The SOAR program is a high-impact cohort-based program that provides students with opportunities for academic success, career development, identity development, and leadership development. The SOAR Program is funded through the SUCCESS fund initiative, coordinated and funded through the Mass. Association of Community Colleges and the Mass. Department of Higher Education.
As a SOAR Coach, you will provide holistic academic and non-academic related support to SOAR program participants. Perform study skills inventory using diagnostics such as LASSI and create student success plans with each student. Develop a student/coach relationship with an assigned caseload of SOAR students; build student motivation and self-confidence, provide study skills strategies, equip students with soft skills, including the ability to communicate with faculty, provide students with information regarding academic and other appropriate on-campus resources. Encourage students to be self-reflective about the learning process. Monitor progress of SOAR coaching students; maintain records of individual coaching sessions, utilize EAB Navigate system to monitor academic performance, provide outreach, and respond to alerts. Provide regular progress reports of SOAR Program participants to the Assistant Director of SOAR.

Additional Information:
SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $52,754.00 to $57,546.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package. Complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system. Transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
