Position Summary

The Desktop Support Specialist’s role is to support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, peripherals, and various software applications. The responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The individual in this position will troubleshoot problems and respond to departmental technical emergencies in order to minimize data loss, meet deadlines, and support the needs of users.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and configure computer systems and applications within the organization
• Work directly with Human Resources to facilitate the onboarding process for new employees
• Administer user accounts: exchange mailboxes, security and phone set up
• Proactively resolve user problems with about equipment and services
• Upgrade workstations to newer OS versions
• Printer maintenance
• Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
• Provides advice and guidance to colleagues regarding IT issues
• Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
• Identify, and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
• Identify potential changes and system improvements
• Monitor Antivirus alerts and perform scan as necessary
• Maintain and support phone and voice mail systems
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Windows 10, MacOS, iOS and Android devices
• Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization’s desktop computing environment.
• Excellent Customer Service in Face-to-Face, Telephone or Electronic Interaction with users; excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Mimecast, Duo, Adobe, ManageEngine
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail.
