The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. The Upward Bound Program is an early intervention pre-college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored locally by North Carolina State University. Upward Bound seeks to identify and select high school students with a 2.5 GPA or higher who have academic potential to succeed in college.

Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.

Prefer Master’s degree in counseling, education, humanities, social sciences, or a related field
Knowledge of:
• NC Education Graduation Requirement Code and requirements of the 4-year and community college enrollment process;
• Student Database Management Systems;
• Modern office procedures, practices, and equipment;
Ability to:
• Assist in the development, direction, and coordination of policies, programs, and services;
• Interpret and apply a variety of rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines regarding the federal grant;
• Review and analyze data for accuracy and completeness and make recommendations;
• Meet schedules and timelines;
• Interact with others using tact, patience, and courtesy;
• Provide tactical planning;
• Ability to multitask at varying levels of detail;
• Organize relatively complex projects or activities that are interdepartmental in scope;
• Embrace a vision and coordinate details of implementation.
