Job Summary
Naropa
University is dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of its student body and the growing demand for hybrid and online courses, degree
programs, and enriched digital student experiences. The Innovative Teaching & Learning Lab, a newly established unit within the office
of Teaching and Learning Technology, seeks to deliver technologically advanced course content through innovative methods, specifically
incorporating contemplative education.As a key member of both the Teaching and Learning Technology Office and the Title III Grant Project
Team, the Educational Technology & Media Specialist (ETMS) plays a pivotal role in advising faculty members and the Senior Director of
Innovative Teaching and Learning. This involves generating new digital course content for Title III grant-funded programming, advising
faculty on content creation, and overseeing the recording, editing, and digitization of audio and video course materials for online
learning. The ETMS ensures ADA compliance for non-digitized materials, uploads content to Canvas (Naropa’s Learning Management
System), collaborates with the Director of Online Education and Instructional Designers, and provides essential administrative support to
drive the success of the Title III Project.Additionally, as an integral member of the Teaching and Learning Technology core team, the ETMS
is responsible for delivering Learning Management System (LMS) and educational technology support to faculty and students. Handling Canvas
help desk inquiries and troubleshooting requests in a timely manner, the ETMS also collaborates with the Director of Online Education in
developing and managing an educational technology/professional development training schedule. Supporting content development and educational
technology projects, the ETMS coordinates administrative, technical, and digital activities for the Teaching and Learning Lab throughout the
duration of the Title III grant. This position will be in the office at least 3 days/week and 2 days can be remote with an agreement
with the Senior Director.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Communication and Project
Management:
•Strategize and execute regular communication with faculty.•Design, coordinate, and manage
comprehensive projects.
Content Creation and Training:
•Design and create quality deliverables
(PowerPoint slides, video tutorials).•Lead development trainings for online course development.
Digital Learning
Resource Management:
•Manage audio/video asset inventory and scheduling.•Present and facilitate discussions with
faculty and Title III Team.
Office of Teaching & Learning Technology Responsibilities:
•Lead digital
learning resources management for the university.•Provide Instructional Design services and execute assigned projects.
Lab Management and Faculty Support:
•Manage the Lab office and logistics planning.•Lead faculty in
procuring and modifying materials for digital delivery.
Educational Technology Support:
•Support faculty
with Canvas (LMS) helpdesk.•Coordinate technology training and development for students and faculty.
Research and
Recommendations:
•Research and recommend dynamic educational technology software.•Support faculty with course
content adaptation and educational technology projects.

Educational
requirement:
•Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, English, Higher Education, Information Technology, Digital
Arts or a related field
Minimum length of prior applicable professional experience required:
•2
years experience in the administration of a the learning management system in a higher educational environment;
•2 years experience
organizing, posting, storing and doing basic editing with audio and video files.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and/or Competencies Required:
•Substantial understanding of, and competence in, working with technology.
•Experience working with Microsoft Office
products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and experience in file sharing. Working knowledge of video and audio recording and
editing applications
•An eye for detail and visual composition
•Self-starter with strong organizational and
problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects •Able to produce high-quality
materials
•Demonstrated familiarity with digital learning platforms such as learning management systems (Canvas
preferred)
•Excellent verbal, written, and technology-based communication skills and excellent customer service and
organizational skills.
•Must demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively.
•Must demonstrate ability
to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

Qualifications Naropa Would Prefer in Candidates for this Position
•Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Education, Information Technology/Computer Science, or related
field.
•Work experience in higher education.
•Demonstrated success working collaboratively with
cross-functional/institutional teams.
•Demonstrated desire to work with college-aged and diverse
populations.
•Experience in developing and facilitating educational technology and/or professional development training.
