Departmental Assistant- Transfer Center/Counseling Center

Duties:
Under general supervision, the Departmental Assistant performs varied clerical duties. Position requires knowledge of general office routines and procedures. Typical duties include: answering phones, greeting students, scheduling meetings, supporting the fast-paced Counseling front desk, communicating with four-year institutions, assisting with event planning, and other related duties. This position will support both the Transfer Center and the Counseling & Career Development Center.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some specialized training (educational or vocational); minimum one year clerk-typist or secretarial experience in a general office environment. Prefer experience in a fast-paced customer service setting. Experience with cultural diversity and/or sensitivity to needs of diverse students is a plus.
Note: Updated requirement – Software and skills proficiency testing for the specific position will be required upon hire and must be successfully completed within the probationary period, if this testing has not been previously completed. Contact the Office of Human Resources at [email protected] for more information. Proficiency testing will include basic Word, basic Excel, alpha filing, keyboarding test, etc.

Hours:
Must be available Monday and Tuesday evenings until close.
Wednesday-Friday 8:15 am-5:00 pm.
Schedule may vary for coverage needs, events, or other college commitments. During the summer, the college closes at Noon on Fridays.
This position may be eligible to request a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of a 90-day introductory period.
