Responsibilities
In MDEE, the Network and Engineering Experiences Team (NExT) is uniquely positioned to contribute to Microsoft’s digital transformation by reinventing the fabric to connect, host and support enterprise services and customer engagement infrastructure that are the bedrock of our company. We also drive modern engineering processes, compliance practices and standards that will serve as an operating guideline for feature crews across different investment areas. We collaborate with various Microsoft Product engineering teams to deliver these features for Microsoft’s enterprise customers.
Are you passionate about using data analytics and AI to create experiences and drive action & automation that are powered by data insights? You will work with software engineering, data teams and network engineers to deliver solutions that drive digital transformation of enterprise infrastructure, drive impact on service operation efficiencies, optimize resources & cost, modernize & automate processes and experiences end to end. Your work will serve as a blueprint for showcasing Azure technologies to support IT operations in reimagining customer experiences, service & business operations.
Contributes in partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a feature.
Learns and contributes to processes for the architecture of a product/solution feature and learns to create proposals by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans under the technical leadership of others.
Develop distributed software services and solutions that are engineered for scale, availability, high performance, and high reliability.
Demonstrate analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills, out-of-the-box thinking, and a real drive for results.
Learns to contribute to efforts to integrate instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behavior such as performance, reliability, availability, usage, and safety mechanisms.
Learns to build and maintain a modern big-data and machine-learning platform (as per industry standards and best practices).
Drive consistency and excellence in building and operating data services/models by providing standards, tools and templates to be leveraged across the NExT.
Perform design and code reviews and provide feedback/prioritization on modernizing the overall data flows, consolidate & refactor data products to achieve data quality and cost reduction.

Development experience on large-scale (Big) data solutions including databases (SQL/No-SQL) and ETL / Data pipelines using cloud services.
Excellent problem-solving skills and software engineering habits, including peer code reviews, unit testing, etc
Previous apprenticeship / internship experience at Microsoft through one of the Global Emerging Talent programs (Year Up, LEAP, MSSA)
Software Engineering IC2 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 – $151,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,300 – $165,400 per year.
