The Program Manager – Safety Management System will ensure ACS operates in compliance with CFR 14 Part 5 and to monitor the health of the overall ACS SMS. The SMS Program Manager interacts with ACS Internal Departments (Station leadership, Policy groups), Cross Divisional Reps, and external agencies such as the FAA to develop risk tracking methodologies, identify areas of risk in the operation, and facilitate mitigations to reduce or eliminate hazardous situations to prevent employee injuries (GIR) or aircraft damages (ADI).
Additional job duties include but are not limited to:
Fosters an environment where safety is a core value by providing support, training, accountability, and recognition
Digests and interprets data, draws recommendations, seeks consensus, and drives actions to improve behaviors using data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
Escalates problems as necessary to ensure awareness and assistance with resolution
Manages project execution and follow up, monitors and manages information, and balances multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and objectives
Frequently reaches out to Station Leadership for updates and explanations of cases
Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, including governmental regulatory agencies (e.g. FAA)
The successful candidate is required to continually measure the performance of the divisional Safety Assurance Program through data analysis and monitoring of the ACSRM in addition to be a subject matter expert in HFACS / Safety Assurance and leading change.
The main objective of these activities is to produce safe, reliable, easy-to-use/intuitive, and easy-to-maintain airport and cargo procedures/products that de-risk our operations ensure employees go home safe each and every day.
Candidates must practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Qualifications: 3-5 years operational experience in a leadership role is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Safety or another related field preferred.
Candidates should have a sound knowledge of safety management principles and practices plus have strong analytical skills.
Must have the ability to work with minimal direction and possess strong decision making, interpersonal, written and communication skills with accuracy and thoroughness in performing work assignments.
Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including governmental regulatory agencies (e.g. FAA). Must be able to manage project execution and follow up, monitor and manage information, balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and objectives. This position will require the availability to work and travel outside of normal business hours. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Position requires proficiency in MS Office applications and SharePoint. Experience with Tableau and SAS is preferred.
Some travel, weekend, and non-standard work hours will be required

Experience working in the areas of:
Threat & Error Management (TEM)
Safety Management Principles and Practices
Human Factors experience
Strong analytical and oral communication skills.
Must have the ability to work with minimal direction
