Title: Evaluation Specialist – CHC
$60,000 – $75,000 / Posted Thru: 1-26-24
Location: Remote/Virtual
Purpose: The Evaluation Specialist position involves the conceptualization, design, and application of scientific research methods to assess the design, implementation, improvement, or outcomes of a program in a variety of topical areas that impact public health. The position requires comprehensive expertise in planning and facilitating various types of evaluation, including organizational assessments, performance or program monitoring, and formative, process, outcome, and impact evaluation studies. The evaluation specialist leads and provides consultation to others for evaluation design, methodology, data analysis and interpretation, and development of reports and other communication and dissemination products.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree in public health; family studies; human ecology; community psychology; sociology; social work; anthropology; evaluation, measurement, and research; public administration; public policy; or other relevant social science discipline required. Concentration, specialized training, or professional experience working in medical field, health, mental health, public health services or systems; non-governmental organizations and community-based settings; and underserved populations preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in a lead role on complex evaluation projects applied in community settings. Minimum of three to five years of experience conducting relevant evaluation and/or research projects (including involvement in complex methodological design, project management, data collection and management, statistical analysis, report writing, and dissemination activities of the project). Experience working on federal grants awarded through U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agencies preferred. Experience engaging stakeholders in evaluation practice using a community-based participatory research/evaluation approach preferred.
Important Skills and Characteristics:
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: The position may require moderate physical effort including working on a computer 50% to 100% of the time. Standard office environment that may include a remote work setting. May require valid vehicle operator’s license and/or travel.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: The Evaluation Specialist directly impacts the quality of products, and the performance of project teams to which they are assigned. This position has substantial impacts on the integrity and quality of MPHI products and activities. Competent performance in this position has a substantial impact on the integrity and professional reputation of MPHI including meetings the needs of MPHI clients in a timely manner, maintaining professional relationships, and enhancing the future potential future contracts with clients.
