Job Summary:
The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSE) hosts a Peer Mentoring program for women students in their first year at Miami.
The Peer Mentoring Program tutor provides one-on-one (or group) tutoring and mentoring to new women undergraduate students in CSE.
Essential Duties:
Tutor responsibilities include:
• Work with mentee to develop a mentoring plan that fits the student’s individual needs
• Meet in person with the mentee at least every other week
• Reach out to mentees regularly over email or text
• Provide general support to the mentee and advice about CSE programs
• Provide information about internships, CEC events and clubs
• Offer assistance with developing study strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
• Sophomore classification or above.
• Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Interest in mentoring freshman students.
