Assistant Professor – Social Psychology
Job Summary:
Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in social psychology. The position involves teaching social psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, maintaining an active program of research, advising undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the department and institution. Appointment begins Fall 2024.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Social or Health Psychology by date of appointment.
Desired Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with strong ability to contribute expertise to the social psychology of health and well-being, the unifying theme of the social psychology program at Miami University. Particular consideration may be given to applicants whose research focuses on social determinants of health, including social connectedness, prejudice and discrimination, socioeconomic status, health behavior engagement, and emotion/motivation, among others.

Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, 2-4 representative publications/pre-prints (upload as “writing sample”), teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, if available (recommended 3 pages), and research statement (recommended 3 pages). The cover letter should articulate the relevance of the applicant’s work to social determinants of health and identify potential connections with researchers throughout the department and/or university.
