Job Summary:
Global Initiatives: The Assistant/Associate Director for Global Health & Safety in Global Initiatives is responsible for monitoring, analysis, response, and assessment risk in global programming, crisis response, faculty and student preparation for educational travel experiences, project management, and associated administrative processes and procedures.

Duties/Physical Demands:
The Assistant/Associate Director duties include:
•Coordinating 24/7 emergency communication, travel alerts, and assistance for Global Initiatives programs, students, faculty, and staff.
•Re-design, implement, and continuous assessment of crisis response protocols for study abroad/away and international student support in collaboration with Student Life, Title IX officer, and others.
•Education Abroad Faculty Leader Abroad (FLA) preparation and support.
•Documentation for healthy, safe, and secure study abroad/away programs and study tours.
•Incident tracking and data analysis for international travel.
•Administration of and liaison to global travel insurance for education abroad and international students.
•Administrative responsibilities related to risk management forms and requirements including Clery Act, FERPA, Title IX, export control, travel registration, and travel tracking as required.
•Assist in review and support of international contracts related to partnerships, education abroad, university housing abroad, and other areas as required.
•May require international travel
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: For appointment as Assistant Director: Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience. For appointment as Associate Director: Master’s degree and five years of experience.
Both levels must meet the below requirements:
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
• Strong relevant subject matter knowledge.
• Demonstrated competencies and understanding pertaining to fields of international risk analysis and management and crisis management.
• Experience with emergency response.
• Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Experience living, studying, working, or travel abroad.
• Evidence of inclusive leadership.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, Clery Act, and global travel insurance coverage provisions.
Desired Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with a background in international risk analysis and management for private/public sector or nonprofit, experience promoting best practices for safety and security overseas, experience responding to complex international events, and Forum on Education Abroad certification.
