SUMMARY 

The Office for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) at the MGH Institute of Health Professions is seeking an Accreditation Specialist to join its team. The CEPD aims to provide innovative and accessible continuing professional development for healthcare practitioners and educators in the areas of healthcare, leadership, and health professions education.

As an Accreditation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accreditation guidelines and leading the maintenance of accreditation. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop high-quality educational offerings and advise in the implementation of effective educational design and assessment of learning outcomes.

This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple courses and programs. The CEPD team is willing to mentor candidates who are not already familiar with the interprofessional requirements of joint accreditation.

CEPD is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 1) Oversees and maintains CPD Joint Accreditation provider status including processes, planning, and implementation (30%).

• Oversee CE planning, implementation, documentation, data collection, and outcomes reporting processes for all continuing education activities in the CPD Joint Accreditation portfolio.
• Implement appropriate monitoring processes to ensure adherence to Joint Accreditation criteria (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, ASWB, APA, ASHA) including ACCME Standards for Commercial Support.
• Lead Joint Accreditation application and re-accreditation audit processes.
• Serve as main point of contact with Joint Accreditation accrediting body, particularly for year-end reporting, progress reports, and reaccreditation.
• Build and maintain standard operating processes for joint provider-ship (accreditation of non-CPD offerings).
•  Attend all Joint Accreditation provider webinars and summits and stay up to date on Joint Accreditation changes and best practices.
• Manages database and communication systems for program development, including outreach, needs assessment, advertisement, enrollment, and evaluation. 

2) Monitoring and maintenance of Joint Accreditation documentation, records, and processes (60%).

• Maintains CE documentation and data collection in adherence to Joint Accreditation criteria (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, ASWB, APA, ASHA) including ACCME Standards for Commercial Support.
• Provides compliance review of activities and materials prior to launch to ensure independence, fair balance, scientific rigor, appropriateness for target audience, and compliance with accreditation criteria and standards.
• Maintains, tracks, and updates faculty and planner information and CVs for accredited CE activities.
• Maintains post-activity follow-up and communications including evaluation summaries, post course financial summary, end of course review, and certificate administration.
• Coordinates and reviews current CE activity submission and workflows processes.
• Collects and analyzes CE activity data to support CPD mission, goals, and accreditation criteria and standards.
• Provides meeting coordination and support services for Interprofessional Review Committee members on a quarterly basis.
• Assists in developing summary reports to IHP stakeholders and accreditors, as needed.

3) Other duties as assigned by supervisor (10%).

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least two years’ experience in healthcare or an educational setting required (master’s degree with at least one-year relevant experience may be substituted).
• Experience in graduate health professional or continuing education preference preferred.
  Experience in collaborating across multiple cross-functional teams preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to make tactical and operational decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with learning management systems a plus.
• Experience in cultivating professional working relationships with stakeholders, customers, students, faculty, and staff.
• Exceptional customer service skills.

SUPERVISOR

• May periodically supervise graduate assistants and temporary employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This is designed as a hybrid position, with regular time working on campus in an administrative office alternating with remote work and/or work on-site at educational events.
