Mesalands Community College is seeking a full-time Director of Student Life and Housing. This position is responsible for planning,
developing and executing a collegewide student life, developing and leading the student activities committee, cultivating a student
experience of belonging as well as manage student housing, student placement in housing, compliance issues with regard to student housing,
and supervising resident assistants, and planning, developing, executing and leading the committee for orientation and first-year
experience. More specifically, the Director will lead the development, implementation, and assessment of a first and second-year curriculum
programming model that focuses on student leadership development and academic success. The goal of the residential experience is to increase
student retention while developing cultural competencies. The Director leads all co curricular aspects of various living-learning
communities (LLCs)/affinity spaces, and will coordinate academic services within the residence halls .This position works with the Executive
Director, Director of Student Support, and Vice President for Academic Affairs to integrate academic and student support initiatives into
the student and professional staff training programs. The Director leads Housing and Student Life staff in on-going assessment practices,
program review, and the dissemination/presentation of critical elements related to the mission and strategic plan of the College. This
Director supervises the Residential Assistants and collaborates with faculty and staff for the First Year Experience (FYE). This position
will work closely with student government, student life committee, faculty, and other academic staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must meet the
following criteria:
experience OR Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field from
a regionally-accredited institution. (Serving as a part time Graduate Level Hall/ Area Director/ Coordinator for two (2) years may count
as one (1) year of full time Residential Life experience for the purpose of this job description).
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must. Ability to read
and interpret texts related to the discipline; documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; and procedure
manuals. Ability to write required reports and correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to individuals and
groups of students and others from within Mesalands Community College and out in the community.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or
scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Technology skills: Computer Competency; Capable of applying and
maneuvering within various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and
Internet.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met
by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to physically complete the tasks of
the job or be able to be reasonably accommodated in doing so. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, depending on the discipline area.
