Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, MIT Libraries (2 openings). Seeking candidates for MIT’s Center for
Research on Equitable and Open Scholarship (CREOS) to conduct pioneering research in the dynamic fields of open and equitable scholarship.
Focused on advancing data and code sharing processes, computational social science, and tools for information exchange among scholars, the
program addresses biases in publication, incentives in hiring and promotion, and challenges to equity in the scholarly ecosystem. Will
engage in weekly seminars and collaborate with faculty mentors, including Micah Altman, Pierre Azoulay, Chris Bourg, David Karger, Roger
Levy, and Rebecca Saxe. Leveraging methodologies like observational causal inference and field experiments, will shape CREOS’ established
inquiries and craft your own research agenda to influence policies and practices, contributing to the evolution of open and equitable
science.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. or equivalent
terminal degree in computational social science, psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, economics, natural language processing,
digital humanities, sociology, law, linguistics, information science, or a related field; experience conducting and disseminating basic
research in academic settings; an understanding of the evolving scholarly landscape and the ability to identify significant research
questions; ability to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment; effective communication skills; and
support for the Libraries’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. PREFERRED: background or demonstrated interest in
scholarly communications, the science of science, knowledge production studies, or information sciences; and proficiency in diverse
methodologies, including experimental design and survey methods, is desirable. Job #23560
