Lehigh University Hiring for Professor of Practice or Teaching Assistant Professor of Finance at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Full Time

The Perella Department of Finance at Lehigh University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position to start in the Spring 2024 academic semester, which could be either: (a) Professor of Practice, or (b) Teaching Assistant Professor.

Qualifications

For consideration as a Professor of Practice, the candidate will have an MBA or a finance/economics-related Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience. For consideration as a Teaching Assistant Professor, the candidate must have completed all coursework towards a doctoral degree with a specialization in Finance or Financial Economics, and be admitted to candidacy from an accredited university. The position at hire, whether Professor of Practice or Assistant Teaching Professor, will be determined by the candidate’s educational background/industry experience.

Position

This is a renewable, fixed-term, non-tenure track, full-time position. The position requires teaching a 12-credit load per academic semester in the Fall and the Spring semesters, respectively in the Finance Program. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in student advising and faculty service activities, including participating in commencement exercises, workshops, recruiting activities and other activities supportive of the Finance Department, its mission and goals, as assigned by the chair of the department.

College and Department

The College of Business has approximately 1,200 undergraduates, 450 graduate students, and 80 full-time faculty members. The undergraduate finance major at Lehigh University is the largest undergraduate major in terms of graduates produced each year. A significant number of our undergraduates proceed to careers on Wall Street and have succeeded very well there. We have a strong presence on Wall Street and this is complemented by our alumni group, the Lehigh University Wall Street Council. The department also participates in the MBA program as well as our MS in Financial Engineering Program jointly offered with the Mathematics, and Industrial Engineering Departments.
