The Lehigh University’s College of Education (COE) Communications and Engagement Manager develops and executes day-to-day and long-term college-level communications and marketing initiatives. This position is essential to elevating the visibility of the college, as well as promoting the college among various constituent groups. 1. Engage multiple audiences about the College of Education via strategic communications and marketing strategies and tactics
*Develop, identify and enhance opportunities to message COE strategic initiatives around education, service and research to increase local, national and international visibility
*Write, edit and revise outward-facing materials including presentations, press releases, blog posts, announcements, newsletters, fact sheets, web and social content and annual reports
*Work with University Communications and Public Affairs (UCPA) to engage with key media outlets, both proactively and reactively, to generate high impact media coverage at local, state and national levels
*Proactively identify strategic communication opportunities with internal and external partners in collaboration with COE leadership
*Support recruitment efforts by developing content and materials designed to build and sustain highly qualified applicant pools of faculty and students in consultation with the Associate Director of Enrollment Management
*Develop benchmark criteria to track and evaluate the effectiveness of the communications strategies on a regular basis
*Consult with the Dean on communication topics and strategies
2. Develop, execute and regularly assess the college-wide communication and marketing strategy
*Working closely with college leadership, partners across campus and third party vendors, develop and implement a marketing strategy that includes public relations, media relations and marketing/communications to promote the college to internal and external audiences
*Working in conjunction with the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Director of Program Development, develop communications plans and strategies; manage the plans’ execution into action items; analyze and adjust plans as needed
*Determine target audiences, identify appropriate tools and media/platforms, and analyze the effectiveness of each using data analytics
*Manage day-to-day scheduling and posting on all social media platforms
*Provide support to Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) and the Office of Economic Engagement (OEE) for college-centric fundraising initiatives and strategic partnership development
*Identify and set strategy for COE publications; ensure college publications adhere to University mission and goals
3. Website Management and Development
*Manage the COE web and internet presence, including coordination of content and site control, policy and procedure administration and website consulting and training
*Manage design and website development services for various COE departments and programs. Collaborate with programmers to develop and design software applications to meet the needs of the COE
*Act as primary consultant to units, departments and programs as they develop or revise respective websites to ensure a unified COE brand
*Oversee consultations with faculty, students and/or staff members regarding website needs, media production, or other specific resources and services
*Coordinate and support activities related to the preparation of web-based materials and serve as the primary contact regarding web issues
*Instruct users in the use of a Content Management System
*Measure the effectiveness of the COE website via qualitative research data and adapt the website to reflect data
*Supervise or contribute to Drupal development plans, proposals and projects
4. Project Management for MarComm Projects
*Manage and/or facilitate special initiatives and projects that support the visibility of the college on campus and/or in the community
*Provide leadership to establish timelines for project completion, propose budgets, oversee aspects of the projects/activities, follow up with the appropriate individuals to ensure that project components support overall project/activities goals (projects/activities typically cut across all areas of the university)
*Manage allocated resources and prepare summary reports
5. Collaboration and Support
*Collaborate with the Director of Program Development and Associate Director of Enrollment Management to design, develop and execute marketing initiatives to support recruitment and enrollment
*Collaborate with the Dean and Associate Deans of Graduate Studies and Research in all aspects of internal and external communications and marketing
*Work with COE Business Manager to prepare and maintain an annual communications budget
*Work closely with Library & Technology Services (LTS) to enhance website functionality
*Collaborate across campus constituents to manage various internal and external College communications

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Five to eight years related work experience
Exceptional communication and writing skills
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.)
