POSITION TITLE: Director of Total Rewards & HR Systems
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role provides vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the HR team responsible for compensation, benefits, payroll, global mobility and HR systems for the US and Canada. Ensures processes, implementations and projects support the goals of the organization. This is a highly hand’s on role with the expectation of creating and supporting processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Own and manage the HR Shared Services functions.
- Direct planning, design, implementation, maintenance and upgrade of HR systems covering benefits and retirement programs and platforms, applicant tracking, recruitment, training, performance reviews, pay, merit, time keeping and reporting as needed.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencies and eliminate routine and/or manual administrative tasks. Prepare and provide HR training on HR systems. Collect feedback from HR and employees to consider system design changes.
- Serve as liaison to internal as well as external parties regarding payroll, benefits/retirement, compensation and systems.
- End responsible for payroll function for US and Canada; ensure payroll process meets province, state, local and federal regulations. Includes tax disbursements, and agency research, quarter reporting, and annual reconciliations.
- Steer and oversee the development and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits, retirement and pension strategy and programs, including wellness, bonus and incentive programs, renewal negotiations – review metrics when necessary, and communicate changes.
- Monitor historical, current and expected headcount in a level of detail that ensures a transparent deployment of the company’s strategy (including Strategic Workforce Planning) and its reporting and compliance with its budget.
- Acts as the central resource for global mobility, including invoicing and salary/benefits determinations. Oversee relocation and payroll and taxes regarding expats/foreign hires to ensure smooth transition to/from the US and Canada.
- Manage all HR Shared Services vendor relationships including monitoring performance of vendors and their service levels, identify new vendors, address service issues with existing vendors, negotiate and renew contracts.
- Ensure the security of all HR Shared Services systems and users; ensure the accuracy of data within all systems and ensure connectivity and data flow through between systems.
- Stay current on state, federal laws for US and Canada – ensure corporate and factory policies are updated accordingly.
- Steer and oversee preparing (ad-hoc) reports, participation in salary surveys and compensation benchmarks, coordinate requests for information.
- Collaborates and aligns with regional HR as well as Global HR Leadership on systems, payroll, compensation and benefits topics.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field) – Required
- Master’s Degree (Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field) – Preferred
- 10+ Years of Experience (Human Resources) – Required
- 7-10 Years of Experience (Payroll) – Required
- 3-5 Years of Experience (Global Payroll) – Preferred
- 5-7 Years of Experience (Benefits Administration) – Required
- 5-7 Years of Experience (HR Systems (ADP & SAP)) – Required
- 7-10 Years of Experience (Management) – Required
- 5-7 Years of Experience (Compensation) – Required
- 0-2 Years of Experience (Global Mobility) – Preferred
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong Microsoft Office user
- Excellent analytical and business acumen skills
- Ability to make sound judgments based on established policies and procedures
- Position manages benefits, payroll, compensation, global relations and HR systems functional areas.
- Requires background in all areas, managerial roles in at least 3.
- Requires multi-state payroll experience, global payroll a plus.
- Working knowledge of benefits administration, applicable HR systems and wage and hour laws
- Travel Percentage – 10%
- Willingness to work in a highly hand’s on capacity
- Must be local to the Irvine, CA office
PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available annual pay scale for this position is: $156,982/yr – $209,309/yr. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
