About This Role:
Lamar University’s Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) is administratively located within the Division of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The Academic Advisor position reports directly to the Associate Director of the Undergraduate Advising Center and ultimately to the Senior Director of Advising. The position is an entry-level academic advising role that functions under the mentorship of Advisor Seniors and the Advising Coordinator based on Meta Major.This position is responsible for providing comprehensive academic advising and student success support to an assigned cohort of students. An Academic Advisor in the UAC advises freshman and sophomore undergraduate students within a cohort of majors. The position focuses heavily on enrollment, reenrollment, and departmental and academic requirements.
