General Description of Position
The IT Systems Administrator purchases, installs, maintains and manages the company’s hardware and software including but not limited to servers, routers, firewalls, desktops, laptops, iPads, printers, plotters, peripherals, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless network, telephone systems, software licenses, antivirus software, technical design software, office productivity software, project management software, etc. The IT Systems Administrator communicates and coordinates with the company’s IT Systems consultant, Verve IT, on hardware system expansion, upgrades, and maintenance; internal and external IT system security; daily backups of applications and data. The IT Systems Administrator must be available outside normal working hours to troubleshoot and deconflict hardware/software issues; install software upgrades; install hardware upgrades and replacements; and perform other work that cannot be done effectively or efficiently during normal working hours. The IT Systems Administrator researches products, negotiates licenses and hardware purchases and makes recommendations to principals. The IT Systems Administrator responds to and assists KSN staff with the troubleshooting of hardware/software issues including but not limited to hardware issues; secure remote connections; communications with peripherals; hardware/software deconfliction, etc.
The ideal candidate will be focused on, 1) putting the user (KSN staff) and user experience first and foremost, 2) maintaining the company’s hardware/software so they are current and up to date, and 3) securing all hardware having access to the company’s servers, internal and external, to protect the company’s applications and data.

Education: Minimum of a college level education, BA/BS degree or higher or equivalent is required.
Experience: Minimum of eight years of relevant and increasingly responsible IT Systems support and management experience.
Licensing: California Drivers License
The position of IT Systems Administrator is an exempt position.
