Job Summary
Interprets, analyzes, evaluates, documents, processes, and communicates information regarding Board of Regents (BOR) and University transfer evaluation policies & procedures to students, academic departments and the advising community in order to provide a seamless transition for transfer students. Provides training and supervision to a team of transfer evaluators.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Advises transfer students regarding transfer credit and prior learning assessment opportunities; conducts one-on-one transfer consultations regarding course applicability in system to progress toward degree completion; reconciles credit discrepancies and clarifies transfer policies; serves as a student advocate with advisors and academic departments
2. Interact across campus by working collaboratively with admissions, financial aid, academic departments, and advising personnel to resolve concerns related to transfer credit evaluations and degree applicability
3. Analyzes, interprets, researches, and evaluates college catalogs for equivalencies making final decisions concerning acceptability of transfer credit ensuring compliance with transfer evaluation policy and procedures; maintains transfer catalog and defines institutions for the transfer articulation in database
4. Manages a caseload of transfer evaluations and transfer course substitutions annually across a spectrum of degrees and majors (caseload varies by semester)
5. Collaborates with leadership and DegreeWorks team to identify and mitigate scribe and curriculum issues in order to accurately display advice in DegreeWorks program requirements
6. Conducts internal and campus community training sessions to support transfer evaluation initiatives and policy and procedure changes and updates
7. Executes student data reports related to project initiatives, interprets results, delivers analysis and needed resolution to the Assistant Registrar
8. Manages database testing and assists with designing and executing test plans, recording and documenting results to ensure to ensure compliance with state and institutional standards
9. Supervises a team of evaluators; supports team goals, provides specialized staff training, coordinates staff schedules, provides feedback on performance, approves timecards and annual leave requests, and assists with hiring and firing activities
10. Assists in developing training programs and instructional materials for onboarding of new processes and new staff members
11. Ensures compliance with USG policies and procedures related to general education and transfer credit and/or degree requirements
12. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team for the Office of the Registrar
13. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators within and across all university units
14. Participates in Commencement ceremonies each semester
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience in academic advising, teaching, student development, higher education or experience related to the position
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Data analytics and reporting experience
Previous supervisory experience
Proficiency with University student information systems related to transfer articulation
Familiarity with The University System of Georgia (USG) policies related to transfer credit and/or degree programs
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Proposed Salary
The budgeted salary range is $45,900 to $50,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
