About This Role: | The Department of Kinesiology, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking a 9-month Assistant Professor to join their team in the Integrative Physiology Program. Candidates who bring innovative approaches to studying any under-explored/unexplored questions broadly related to physiology, integrating both basic and clinical research with a human research subject focus, are encouraged to apply. This tenure-track position will report directly to the Department Head. To support the successful candidate’s research program, competitive start-up and dedicated laboratory space will be provided. To facilitate clinical research, Kansas State University and the Department of Kinesiology have established a formal research affiliation with Stormont Vail Health System, comprised of Stormont Vail Hospital, Cotton O’Neil, and Cotton O’Neil Pediatrics, with more than 250 physicians and >200,000 patients served each year. This affiliation includes enhanced patient access, clinical specialties, and shared resources. In addition, shared laboratory space is also available within the department for those engaging in wet laboratory and animal model research in parallel to their human research. Successful candidate’s research interests may include but are not restricted to; cardiovascular physiology, cell/molecular physiology, neural control and autonomic regulation, endocrine physiology, environmental physiology, renal physiology, muscle physiology, respiratory physiology, gastrointestinal physiology, and clinical genetics/genomics. Moreover, the department seeks candidates committed to scholarly productivity who will conduct nationally visible, funded research that complements department, college, and university research initiatives. Candidates will also be expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate kinesiology and integrative physiology programs, mentor graduate students, and provide University and professional service. This 9-month position at the rank of assistant professor has a preferred starting date of August 2024, with competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
