Position, Department: Part-Time Student Development Specialist, Student Success & Engagment
Type of Position: Part-time Regular, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Wednesdays 12p-6pm; Thursdays 8am-6pm; Fridays 8am-5pm, 25 hours per week
Pay Range: $16.50 – $20.63 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.
Pay Grade: 51.51

Position Summary: The Student Development Specialist is responsible for assisting students with the college enrollment process and orienting students to college policies, procedures, resources, and technology. This position helps facilitate student learning to ensure students are successful in navigating the complexities of the enrollment process from admission through graduation. The Student Development Specialist builds relationships with students, engages them in the community of JCCC, and connects students with resources as needed.
Required Qualifications: Associates degree in an appropriate field 1 year customer service experience Attention to detail
Interpersonal communication skills Critical thinking skills
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information Interpersonal communication skills
General computer, data entry, and web knowledge skills
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with college students
