The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for the administration and management of assigned benefit plans. This includes ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, coordinating with vendors, promoting and communicating benefit plans, integrating them with HRIS/IT/Payroll systems, and handling file processing, funding, and reconciliations. The administrator will also contribute to the development, management, and measurement of health management programs, including promotion, targeted communication, metrics, evaluation, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Plan Administration:
Serve as a subject matter expert for compliance questions, HR Direct escalations, and other related matters.
Manage relationships with benefit plan vendors, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Promote and communicate benefit plans to employees.
Ensure seamless integration of benefit plans with HRIS, IT, and Payroll systems.
Handle file processing, funding, and reconciliations.
Compliance:
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes related to benefit plans.
Make recommendations in response to these changes to ensure compliance.
Manage the completion of 5500 forms and financial audits for benefit plans.
Health Management:
Contribute to the development, management, and measurement of health management programs.
Promote health management initiatives.
Implement targeted communication strategies to increase employee engagement.
Track and analyze metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of health management programs.
Manage program administrators responsible for implementing health management initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
Apply a continuous improvement model to areas of program and process responsibility.
Set clear objectives and metrics to measure performance.
Modify processes and programs as appropriate to ensure success.
Reviews:
Conduct ongoing benchmark review of the external market to ensure competitive benefits consistent with best practices, cost control, and strategic objectives.
Complete and analyze results from periodic benefits surveys.
Make recommendations for changes to benefit plans consistent with strategic goals.
Review data on plan performance, including employee satisfaction, cost, trends, and employee understanding.
Contribute to quarterly cost reporting and analysis for presentation to senior leadership.
Data Review:
Review data related to benefit plans, such as enrollment, utilization, and costs.
Analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for communication, plan design changes, etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in benefits administration, including knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in HRIS, IT, and payroll systems.
Knowledge of health management programs and initiatives.
Familiarity with benchmarking and data analysis techniques.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and implement process improvements.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting.
