Under the director of the Director of Auxiliary Services and the Frontline Coordinator, the Frontline Worker provides support with a variety of food service operation tasks such as cleaning work areas and equipment, set up, serving food, cash register duties, barista, banquet server, banquet set up, and Jax’s Place cook.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Sets up food service equipment and utensils for cafeteria service.Sets up for special events by putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffetConveys food and supplies from the main kitchen to the serving site.Serve food items to customers in an efficient and friendly manner in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served. Basic food preparation under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef or Cook. As needed, replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays.Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, service ware, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.Perform routine cashiering duties as assigned; receive and count money and make correct change.Follow established health, safety, and sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance.Responsible for understanding, supporting and actively demonstrating the College’s beliefs, values, mission, and vision and being in agreement to be evaluated by same.Minimum Qualifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequent reaching, walking, standing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and fumes. WORK ENVIROMENT Work is generally performed in a commercial cafeteria environment, with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Work hours may vary, and frequent evening and weekend hours are required. Travel may be required.
