Job Description

The San Jose IRC office serves approximately 500 asylees, refugees, SIV’s and Victims of Human Trafficking annually and provides them with a fresh start and opportunities to use their greatest resources-their motivation, their skills and their experiences-to become independent and self-sufficient new Americans.
Job Overview: Under the supervision of the Employment Program Coordinator, the Elderly Community Resource Specialist will provide assistance to elderly (60+ year old) APAs, UHPs, Asylees, and other qualified immigrants to ensure the best possible initial services experience and comprehensive access to community resources. These services will improve the quality of life for elderly low-income immigrants in Santa Clara and surrounding counties by ensuring that, in the short-term, they meet their basic needs and build financial stability, allowing long-term attainment of self-sufficiency. The Specialist will develop initial service and/or self-sufficiency plans to match individual client needs and preferences utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources based on client eligibility.
