Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for assisting in all human resource functions of the company, including but not limited to recruiting, evaluations and benefits.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs orientations and update records of new staff in benefits and payroll systems
- Assists with payroll preparation
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintains employee program records (shoes, uniforms, tool purchase, etc.)
- Provides outstanding customer service to all employees and outside contacts
- Requires knowledge of human resources, benefits administration, policy interpretation and compliance
- Exposure to labor law, employment equity regulations, and payroll practices
- Effective HR administration and people management skills
- Gather data for Human Resources Metrics
- Enter and maintain database of applicants for retrieval and review
- Assist in maintaining OSHA 300 logs
- Track and maintain employee safety records
- Attend monthly Safety Meetings
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, such as Excel, Word, etc.
- Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A high level of confidentiality
- Flexibility and willingness to learn
- Excellent attitude towards the company in which they are employed
- Work in a professional manner and be mindful of other employees
- Work required hours as per current department workload
