BASIC
FUNCTION:
Works under the guidance of the PI for the grant to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines
per the scope of the project and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and
third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Defines project objectives and oversees quality control
throughout the project life cycle.
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
May include leading project teams and directing
others.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Contact with HU Faculty, Staff, Students, third party vendors, community partners and
patient populations
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Demonstrates project management skills by ensuring the project scope is
aligned with the stated business objectives, setting, and managing customer expectations, managing, and escalating issues and changes.
Perform Project Planning. Create / build / update project schedules, project charters, project plans, status reports, and work breakdown
structures.
Perform Project Scope Management. Effectively manage project work within the stated scope by providing monthly updates to
team.
Perform Project Cost Management/Budget Management. Manage Estimated Time to Complete tasks (ETCs) and reconcile ETCs based on
recommended guidelines.
Perform Quality Management.
Perform meeting management and documentation, including coordinating,
running, and documenting meetings.
Issue/Risk management.
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for
milestones and adhering to deadlines
Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
Making
effective decision recommendations when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serving as a point of
contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Communicating with
executives or team leads to keep the project aligned with their goals
Performing quality control on the project throughout
development to maintain the standards expected
Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project
change
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Skill in the operation of computers, related software applications (MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access, Teams, Zoom) and standard office equipment.
Demonstrated effective time management skills to prioritize tasks,
meet deadlines and react to workflow and process issues
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to
establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students, and customers.
Ability to plan,
organize and coordinate work with both internal and external customers.
Ability to multi-task efficiently.
MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree but MBA preferred and 5-7 years of related work experience. 12 years of related work experience
may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.
