Responsible for managing day-to-day program operations and coordinating and overseeing the staff charged with delivery and continuous improvement of curriculum delivery, business support services, access to capital, alumni relations, and operations.
Collaborates with HCC Centers for Entrepreneurship and build capacity for start-up businesses and expand offerings through HCC Centers of Excellence.
Demonstrates vision, management expertise, an in-depth knowledge of small business growth strategies, and an understanding of service delivery operations.
An integral component of the position is ensuring the curriculum, business services, networking, and alumni components are comprehensive and enable small businesses to grow and lead to job creation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as Executive Program Director for 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative.
Manages the grant budget.
Develops grant proposal each year and develop annual evaluation of grant activities.
Hire, supervise and evaluate Faculty, Grant Directors, Alumni Manager, and Staff.
Coordinate the annual class sessions and staff appropriately.
Create, scope, and manage local and national partner relationships in order to expand and support the entrepreneurial ecosystem available to Houston area small business owners who go through the program.
Serve as the liaison between the College and the Goldman Sachs Foundation on matters related to implementation, delivery, and measurement of the 10,000 Small Businesses in Houston.
Manage day-to-day program operations, including implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum delivery, business support services, alumni relations, operations, and administration.
Design and implement local training to program staff.
Help coordinate efforts across different areas of the College, Centers of Excellence, and Centers for Entrepreneurship to deliver business programs.
Lead the continuous development and improvement of innovative and practical solutions to address the needs of small businesses in the realm of curriculum, services, technical assistance and networking.
Create and implement effective performance metrics to measure the success of the program.
Integrate the program into the HCC offerings.
Oversee events, clinics, graduations for small business owners and alumni.
Network with business support services organizations and other key stakeholders to enhance the local entrepreneurship ecosystem and to advance program recruitment.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
