Position Overview:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the management of functions related to HR issues for all Team Members. The HR manager interacts with potential candidates and Team Members to provide information in response to inquiries about the company, policies, and procedures. This position must also have experience with Recruiting, Human Resource Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Supports Diversity, Classifying Employees, Employment Law, Laws Against Sexual Harassment, Organization etc.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Utilize our ATS that intersects with various online platforms for recruiting such as Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster, etc. Track applicants appropriately and communicate appropriately working with the hiring managers to submit offer letters.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local trade schools and universities for recruiting purposes. Conduct trade fairs & open houses from time to time.
• Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
• Conduct exit interviews upon a team member’s departure and process the information as well as distribute the information so as to continuously improve the workplace and reduce turnover.
• Coordinates the scheduling of job evaluations with dept heads. Monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
• Maintain employee benefits programs and inform team members of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
• Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
• Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
• Maintain historical human resource records by maintaining the filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Ensure that the curriculum assigned to new recruits is assigned appropriately via Hog Tech University.
• Notify insurance carrier of changes with respect to benefits and/or Cobra
• Communicate with the insurance carrier with respect to new hires and terminations
• Review time sheets, wage computation, detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
• Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments
• Run reports for anniversary, birthday, and telephone lists
• Update Team Member information in the HR database
• Lookup, and communicate, PTO balances
• Manage worker’s compensation cases
• Manage the onboarding process including background checks, drug testing, setting pay rate insurance set up etc.
• Respond to unemployment claims

Supervisory Responsibility – this position may supervise other clerical staff as deemed necessary to perform the duties of the job.

Work Environment – This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel – this position may require travel from time to time although rare

Additional Eligibility Qualifications – must be able to pass a background check

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum of Associate in Human Resources or Business Administration or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Five years of Human Resource Experience (to include payroll and benefits) in a 100+ person organization preferred not required
• Safety program management experience preferred.
• Excellent MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills
• Experience with HRIS database, CoAdvantage preferred, or other HRIS platform
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be fluent in English, ability to speak other languages a plus
