HARTUNG BROTHERS, INC is a family owned and operated agribusiness. We have been developing a wide range of solutions for agriculture’s producers and processors alike since 1975. Hartung Brothers offers agriculture contracts for seed corn and cucumbers to farmers and processors.

We are currently in need of an Operator Mechanic for our Arena Farm. The Operator Mechanic will perform all phases of field operations for crop production and assist in maintaining and repairing all equipment needed in the farm operations. This is a full-time, year- round position.

PAID TRAINING is provided to ensure proper skills development and alignment for growth within the company.

The candidate will need to be self-motivated, very detailed oriented and devoted to farming.

Responsibilities:

• Operate or drive all the various types of equipment needed in the company’s farm operations.
• Maintain knowledge of computer controls used with all precision ag equipment.
• Perform all duties required to successfully produce the crops grown including: tillage, planting, fertilization, chemical application, cultivation, harvesting and transporting of the crop.
• Assist in performing all maintenance and repairs where needed on all equipment and vehicles used in the farming operations.
• Observe and report all technical and mechanical concerns to the Lead Mechanic.
• Comply with company and customer regulations and policies.
• Continually monitor and report all technical, mechanical and safety concerns to lead mechanic operator.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the operation of farm equipment including tractors, harvesters, cultivators, tillage equipment, etc.
• Candidate MUST be a self-motivated and detail-oriented person with high drive to be able to focus in a high tempo environment with ability to adapt to changing situations on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of chemicals and their handling or application requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicators License.
• Agricultural knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, and computer systems.
• Good mechanical aptitude to detect and correct or repair equipment issues.
• Available to travel to various crop areas.
• Must have knowledge of health, safety and food safety standards pertaining to agricultural infrastructure.

Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
