Role Objective
Implements environmental processes to achieve corporate critical success factors of employee well-being, financial strength, capability and community responsibility. Maintains a workplace that is in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and environmental regulations. Supports Sustainable Ways of Working (SWOWSM) and other sustainability initiatives for the enterprise.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Administers and amends processes (Environmental Handbook, policies, procedures and SOPs) necessary to remain compliant with applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations.
- Supports and administers procedures defined in the ISO 14001 aligned Environmental Management System.
- Reports on measures identified to be indicators of successful workplace environmental strategy.
- Maintains records of environmental inspections and manifests.
- Administers the hazardous waste program.
- Conducts processes necessary to maintain EPA compliance with permits (Annual Hazardous Waste Report, quarterly wastewater sampling and reporting, SWPPP, SPCC and SARA 312 (Tier II) and 313 (TRI) reporting).
- Assists with all environmental training.
- Supervises Environmental Technician and Temporary Employee(s)
- Assists with investigations for material releases and non-conformities as defined by the GOJO EMS.
- Serves as member/leader/resource for teams critical to assure environmental compliance in the facility.
- Provides leadership in the absence of the Environmental Manager.
Education and Experience
BA/BS degree with a minimum of (3) three to (5) five years related work experience in a manufacturing environment or (7) seven to (9) nine years related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
