The University Library is seeking to hire a full-time Library Technical Assistant at our Atlanta campus. The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:
· Provide needed support to the Cataloging Unit by cataloging shelf ready books and other new books and media with Library of Congress copy
· Monitoring and executing withdrawal and reinstatement requests
· Physically processing new and older materials as needed
· Checking access on recently loaded electronic resources and assisting with large weeding and location transfer projects.
· Provide support in database maintenance projects and other collection maintenance projects. This support enables the other members of the Unit to devote more time to specialized, more complex projects.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three years of library, customer service, or office experience. Supervisory or lead worker experience may be required for some positions.
