College of Business – Dean’s Office
Responsibilities
The instructional specialist leads a team in the Dean’s Office that supports data-driven decision making in the College of Business. They work with other units throughout the university to capture data relevant to the college, oversees the analysis of that data to inform operational decisions, and communicates results/conclusions to the Dean and other parties. Specific responsibilities include:
·Maintain college databases, including student enrollment and demographics, classes, student evaluations, graduate exit surveys, admission records and faculty performance data.
·Oversee AACSB accreditation reporting and ongoing compliance.
·Submit periodic reports to US News & World Reports to support program rankings.
·Coordinate classroom allocation and assignment for all COB course offerings.
·Evaluate COB student scholarship funds and allocate scholarships to eligible students based on gift agreements.
·Analyze faculty research productivity and report to Dean for allocation of summer research grants, professorships, or other merit-based decisions.
·Maintain college and departmental dashboards.
·Supervise one or more data analyst staff positions in the Dean’s office.
·Perform additional research and analysis in response to ad hoc requests from the Dean and departmental chairs.
Qualifications
Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. Experience teaching at an undergraduate or graduate level. Proficiency with data analysis techniques and report visualizations; preferably Alteryx Designer and PowerBI software. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
