Technology-Enhanced Classroom Support (TECS) | Information Technology Services
Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting routine inspections and maintenance of fixed and non-fixed seating in classrooms and lecture halls, including tightening bolts, replacing shells and cushions, and repairing tablet arm and tablet arm mechanisms. Manage an inventory of spare parts and coordinate warranty repairs with vendors to ensure optimal classroom conditions.
Responsible for coordinating and maintaining an accurate inventory of classroom furniture, including chairs, tables, and lecterns. Perform repairs on furniture as needed and coordinate warranty repairs with vendors to uphold quality standards. Ensure accurate seat counts in classrooms and assist in managing contract work related to classroom furniture and fixtures.
Collaborate with Facilities Operations and Maintenance teams to process work orders related to university classrooms. Oversee the execution of work orders to ensure timely and appropriate completion, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
Coordinate regular updates to classrooms and corridors including patching, painting, ceiling tile repair/replacement, flooring installation, and other areas as needed. Work in conjunction with Facilities project management on renovations and any new construction.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs as necessary to ensure the safe and reliable operation of university vehicles. Assist the ITS Property manager with vehicle-related inventory and documentation tasks.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability as needed to support departmental objectives. Operate state vehicles, golf carts, utility vehicles, or all-terrain vehicles to access site premises, maintaining a valid driver’s license and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Must have a valid Florida or Georgia Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Their primary objective is to enhance the teaching and learning experience by providing comprehensive support for technology-equipped learning environments. TECS works closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that classrooms are equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment, instructional technology, and IT infrastructure necessary for engaging and interactive learning experiences.
