Responsibilities
The Facilities Communications Manager is responsible for planning, administering, reviewing, and evaluating all marketing and communications strategies for Facilities and its multiple units. This position collaborates directly with Facilities leadership and directors to develop and implement strategies that engage and inform current and prospective students, staff, faculty, and other University community members. The Facilities Communications Manager ensures a unified brand presence through both internal and external messaging and digital presence.
Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications & marketing plan. Maintains a wide range of communications channels, including print materials, websites, & various social media platforms. Provides support and expertise to the AVP, directors, and related staff in the creation of promotional assets representing Facilities and associated units. Responsible for the development of the budget and tracking of communications reach. Assists with developing and circulating internal communications to staff.
Serves as the lead editor for all Facilities communications materials and publications. Responsible for developing and maintaining the Facilities website, including content, graphics, and overall usability. Works with leadership to develop policies, standard operation procedures (SOPs), handbooks, and other related materials. Coordinates all aspects of Facilities’ award applications and submissions.
Works with University Communications to provide information and resources to news media and other entities on behalf of Facilities and associated departments. Stays abreast of changes in University policies and practices regarding marketing standards to ensure compliance with procedures to optimize communications effectiveness.
Works across FSU departments to develop relationships and collaborations. Manages the collection and distribution of weekly highlights from Facilities units and customer service surveys.
Supports the Facilities Liaison Officers group and Service Center Manager to ensure an open flow of communication between groups. Supervises student employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience.
(Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
Experience or knowledge in planning, administering, reviewing, and evaluating communications strategies.
Experience with applicable computer applications including Microsoft Office suite and advanced computer functions.
Experience with applicable design and social media tools.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information for multiple audiences.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
