Job Summary
This position will lead HCCâs comprehensive Workforce and Continuing Education curriculum development initiatives. This position will oversee all aspects of Workforce (credit) and Continuing Education (noncredit) curriculum development at the program level and provide support at the course level. This role is a high-level position that requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of curriculum design, alignment, job analysis, and the promotion of equity in educational practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work closely with industry members and instructional leaders to identify current and emerging job trends. Develop accurate job profiles that reflect the skills and knowledge required for these roles.
Collaborate with industry partners to create and refine curricula that align with job profiles. Design industry credentials of value that recognize and reward the acquisition of necessary skills.
Coordinate with credit instructional leaders and CE program directors to design upskilling and reskilling credentials that enable individuals to advance their careers or transition to new roles.
Ensure credentials are industry-driven, faculty-led, and highly valued by employers by collaborating closely with industry representatives and faculty.
Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs. Develop and implement training programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in workforce development and continuing education.
Demonstrate knowledge of rules and regulations of the THECB, PERKINS V, SACSCOC, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and TWC related to Continuing Education, Workforce Education and training.
Assist deans and program directors in developing continuing education courses that respond to emerging community needs.
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs for credit and non-credit pathways.
Maintain awareness and knowledge of legislation affecting CTE requirements within the state.
Build collaborative relationships with the Curriculum and Instructional Initiatives leadership team to ensure alignment of workforce development programs with academic, industry, and public/private sector employment needs.
Develop and promote partnerships with businesses, industry partners, agencies, and community organizations for grants or other financial opportunities to support prospective and incumbent workforce skills improvement.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
â˘Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Workforce Development, or a related field.
â˘5 yearsâ experience in program and curriculum development, preferably in a workforce/continuing education.

Working Conditions
