This position is with The Florida Center for Reading Research, located in Innovation Park at 2010 Levy Avenue.
Responsibilities
This position will work with the director, researchers, and leadership within FCRR, and school and community partners to support the translation, dissemination, and implementation of various K-12 reading and literacy related resources, programs, and policies locally, across the state, and across the region.
The Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) conducts primary research on reading and reading related issues, while also translating research to support the uptake and use of evidence-based practices in schools and communities. FCRR accomplishes these activities through several active research projects and through robust partnerships with diverse stakeholders. For more information about FCRR, please visit https://www.fcrr.org/ The candidate in this position will work with the director, researchers, and leadership within FCRR, and community partners to develop and implement a research and outreach agenda that is responsive to the needs of specific, targeted communities and stakeholders. Primary responsibilities for this position will include supporting research and evaluation activities; developing and delivering training and facilitator materials; and supporting dissemination activities. Only candidates with significant, demonstrated professional expertise and experiences within the field of reading and literacy will be considered for this position.
Qualifications
Masters, Specialist or Doctorate degree.
Candidates must have a demonstrated record of achievement in the following areas:
· Five or more years of experience in a position as the direct service provider to support reading, writing, or language skills to P-12 students (e.g., teacher, clinician, childcare provider, family engagement specialist)
· Five or more years of experience providing reading instruction to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grades (e.g., classroom teacher, special education teachers, reading coach, reading specialist)
· Teaching certification, advanced graduate degree, and/or advanced training in reading (e.g., Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree, Reading Endorsement, Reading Certification, non-degree certificate programs in reading and reading-related instruction)
· Two or more years of experience in a project management or research team position within a university-based research center
· Two or more years of experience disseminating and communicating research- and evidence-based practices, results, and other information in multiple formats to diverse stakeholders, including academic researchers, teachers, community partners, policymakers, funders, and parents/families.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition, the following experiences and expertise are preferred:
·graduate degree in education, psychology, language, or a related field.
·experience developing, implementing, and/or sustaining research-practice partnerships between a university and a community partner.
·experience developing and/or using innovative programming and communication approaches to disseminate research evidence to non-academic audiences.
·experience planning, organizing, and hosting events with diverse stakeholder groups.
·proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish assigned tasks and deliverables on time with minimal error and minimal supervision.
·experience using Microsoft Office suite of collaboration tools, including SharePoint and Teams.
·experience developing or using a data management system, such as FileMaker.
·excellent oral and written communication skills.

The candidate will join a diverse, interdisciplinary group of colleagues and students at FCRR. Drawing from multiple disciplines, FCRR investigates all aspects of reading and reading-related skills across the lifespan. Through rigorous and robust research, innovation, and engagement, FCRR advances the science of reading to improve learning and achievement from birth through adulthood. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to activities across FCRR, including collaborating on research projects, partnerships with local schools and communities, and supporting undergraduate and graduate student training.
This position is based in Tallahassee, Florida. The primary workplace will be on campus at the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University. Some travel will be required for this position. This is not a remote position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check , including a federal background check as required by the funding agency.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position will be $50,000 to $60,000 annually.
Salary to be commensurate with education, experience, and rank of position.
