Job Description:
Empire State University is currently seeking versatile Instructional Designers (State Title: Instructional Support Technician) to provide their expertise in the development and revision of online courses and support the use of technology to enhance learning for SUNY Empire. The individuals in these roles can select a specific job track but needs to have the skills of an instructional designer with a strong grasp of technology. These roles will provide on-demand instructional technology and design consultation, guidance, and support to faculty using current research-driven learning design principles, instructional technologies, and best practices. The selected incumbents will provide training and support on a range of concepts, including but not limited to accessibility, assessment, copyright, and open educational resources (OERs) to faculty and students. These roles will also include development of training materials and resources. The Instructional Designers will collaborate with a team of subject matter experts, instructional technologists, librarians, multimedia designers, and other instructional designers, and follow the established project management processes. We are seeking dedicated candidates who will receive comprehensive training in a trauma-informed instructional design model, ensuring they are well-equipped to create educational content that is sensitive to the unique needs and experiences of individuals affected by trauma.
