Job Summary/Objective
The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for event-based administrative processing around enrollments/changes to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA and FSA plan participations. “Events” triggering enrollment/changes include a) new hires; b) terminations; c) benefits annual open enrollment; d) mid-year family status changes; and e) employee status transfers. This includes counseling employees, collecting documents, creating files, recording transactions in ADP, updating online carrier eligibility systems and filing. The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for managing all leaves of absences for FMLA, NYPFL, LTD and all other LOAs upon request, from beginning to end. Managing includes coordination with employees, managers and payroll to ensure an open flow of communication.
Essential Job Functions

• Administer all employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, dental, vision, accident and disability, life insurance, retirement plan benefits and wellness benefits.
• Manage, reconcile and submit payment in a timely manner for all benefits related invoices, such as medical, dental, vision, transit, FSA, COBRA etc.
• Maintain all statistical data relative to claims, cost, and premiums.
• Responsible for processing all 401k and Pension distribution requests.
• Responsible for maintaining employee benefits, benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction and payroll auditing as it relates to benefits.
• Coordinate with Payroll to maintain all reports regarding new hires, terminations and absence reports.
• Conduct Benefits Orientation and open enrollment sessions to explain all benefits and enrollment.
• Intercede with insurance carriers when employee/provider claim disputes arise.
• Assist with benefits related events, such as open enrollment, annual blood drives, flu shots, health fairs etc. and special projects as needed.
• Administer all LOA (STD/LTD /NYPFL/ FMLA) along with Workers Compensation.
• Assist HR Benefits Manager with filing 5500’s, Summary Annual Report and Annual Funding Notice mailings when necessary.
• Extensive communication and interaction with employees, insurance and retirement providers.
• Process all terminations, exit documents and conduct exit interviews.
• Assist Manager with answering phone.

• Highly motivated and strong interest in Benefits/HRIS
• Bachelor’s Degree, in Human Resources or related field
• 1-2 years Benefits/ADP experience preferred
• Excellent Excel skills a MUST – V-Lookups, Formula writing etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentation skills for groups and individuals
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and maintain strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management and organization skills and proven ability to prioritize work effectively
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to analyze, decipher and execute complicated tasks
• Requires a high degree of initiative and professionalism
• Must be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
