Job Summary
We’re looking for a fully remote user interface designer and engineer who has interests in national security, defense, translational research, production deployments, and solving complex data and information problems. The ideal candidate will have an obsession with human-computer interaction and an understanding of the cognitive psychology behind user interface design and implementation for data intensive systems that support mission operations across the national security space.
Responsibilities & Duties
– Write and test product or system development code.
– Work across software engineering and UI/UX design teams and serve as a communication layer between the two.
– Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
– Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
– Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
– Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
– Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
– Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Minimum qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
– 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, data structures & algorithms, optimization of time and space complexities, testing, maintaining, and launching software products.
Preferred qualifications:
– Master’s degree or PhD in Design, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
– An existing certification from one or more CompTIA competencies (e.g., Security+,
Cloud+, CySA+, Data+, etc.).
– 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, data structures & algorithms, optimization of time and space complexities, testing, maintaining, and launching software products.
-2 years of experience with JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
– 2 years of experience crafting complex web applications applications using React or a comparable JavaScript framework (e.g. Angular, Vue, Backbone, Ember).
Salary
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$120,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and experience.
