POSITION OVERVIEW: The Preschool Teacher is a critical role within our School. This position is responsible for providing a nurturing and safe learning environment for the students in his/her care at all times, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and trust.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
• Plan, deliver, and assess developmentally appropriate curriculum and related activities for assigned students
• Student supervision within “duty” setting, as assigned (e.g. car rider, lunch, nap, etc.)
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records for student
• Develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with parents/clients, co-workers, and staff
• Supervise and engage the assigned Teaching Assistant(s)
• Comply with State licensing requirements
• Attend training as required
• Maintain accurate and timely professional training records
• Communicate with Director any safety, behavioral, learning, or parent concerns that impact the student, classmates, or the best interest of the School
• Attend School sponsored activities and events
• Adhere to strict confidentiality standards
• Communicate with parents/clients in a professional, caring, and collaborative manner
• Maintain accurate and regulatory compliant student records
• Adhere to the policies and guidelines of the School and the directives of the Director
• All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to meet Texas daycare worker licensing requirements
• Minimum of 1 years of early childhood teaching experience
• Familiarity with TDFPS and minimum State licensing standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 2 years of early childhood teaching experience
• Currently meets Texas daycare licensing requirements.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement for level assigned.
• Experience as an early childhood teacher in a licensed and/or accredited small school setting Experience developing and delivering detailed lesson/teaching plans

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to manage and resolve day to day learning and behavioral issues, as they arise, in a safe, productive, and positive manner
• Knowledge of early childhood curriculum, instruction, and learning theory
• Ability to engage and deliver age appropriate curriculum and instruction for positive student learning outcomes
• Ability to communicate with parents/clients, staff, students, community, and others within the community, in a professional, positive and collaborative manner, through verbal, written, and digital means
• Ability to supervise and motivate others
• Ability to maintain compliance with Texas Educator Certification guidelines
• Ability to maintain compliance with State daycare worker regulations
• Attention to detail and confidentiality
• Self-motivated with little need for close supervision/direction
• Adheres to strict timelines and schedules
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, children, staff, and others through written and verbal means
• Ability to successfully coordinate and plan schedules
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary
