If so, this is the job for you! This is a newly created position to support our new Career and Advanced Technology Center at Community College of Philadelphia! The person in this role will have an opportunity to help develop and shape strategies needed to attract current and future employer and community partners while leading the day-to-day oversight of the CATC in partnership with the Executive Director.

The Manager, Career Advanced Technology Center (CATC) assists the Executive Director, CATC in the day-to-day operations of the West Philadelphia Regional Center/CATC and the planning, implementation, and assessment of strategies to expand program offerings and increase enrollment. The Manager serves as the administrator-in-charge in the absence of the Executive Director and provides general administrative support to the Center’s students, faculty, staff, and outside constituencies. The Manager, CATC provides supervision of office staff and work study students and assists the Executive Director in monitoring the building and grounds to maintain a safe, comfortable and collegiate environment. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Research and identify ways to expand skilled-trade program offerings at the CATC/WERC campus.
• Coordinate and collaborate with enrollment management and other student support services departments to support our enrollment growth and retention efforts on behalf of the CATC campus.

• Create, develop and maintain enrollment reports and collaborate with enrollment management to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Identify strategies to assess and measure the success of the activities, events and impact of the CATC/WERC on the students served and the surrounding community.
• Research and identify community outreach opportunities to help grow awareness about the CATC/WERC program offerings with our internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as administrator-in-charge during the absence or unavailability of the Executive Director for CATC and the West Regional Center building.
• Monitor the regional center facilities, housekeeping and security to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Coordinate and participate in special events such as open houses, orientations, job fairs, transfer fairs and community programs and assess the effectiveness of student support services at the Center.
• Open and close the Center, when assigned.
• Provide training and supervision of CATC and WERC clerical staff and Work Study Students.
• Conduct tours of the facilities and respond to general inquiries regarding academic programs.
• Manage CATC and WERC announcements and video messaging system.
• Maintain room schedules for classrooms and labs, community room, faculty/advising offices, and conference rooms.
• In collaboration with the Division of Academic and Student Success, coordinate various programs such as New Student Orientation, Student Appreciation days, Express Enrollment and co-curricular events to foster student retention and to create a more collegiate environment.
• Assist Executive Director of CATC/WERC in collaboration with members of the Workforce and Economic Innovation (WEI) unit to identify, evaluate and create presentations to introduce new skilled trades programs.
• Assist the Executive Director to coordinate and collaborate with the WEI unit to identify and establish relationships with industry-specific employers that align with our non-credit and CTE programs.
• Create and maintain industry-specific employer database to identify talent pipeline, job placement and hiring event opportunities for students in our CTE and workforce development programs.
• In collaboration with Multimedia Services (MMS), maintain audio-visual (AV) equipment; facilitating the scheduling, delivery and security of AV equipment; providing basic assistance with the AV equipment for instructors as needed; and submitting MMS repair requests as needed.
• Submit facility work orders into the Accruent FAMIS 360 management system.
• Make referrals to appropriate offices for advising, counseling, course selection, etc., and for assistance with other important issues.
• Maintain employee attendance records and other administrative records as requested.
• In collaboration with the Executive Director, CATC, gather information and resolve complaints made by faculty, staff, and students.
• Assist the Executive Director, CATC in facilitating communication between students and faculty members assigned to the Center.
• Communicate information to appropriate college personnel to ensure the consistent delivery of quality services.
• Deliver quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner.
• Attend meetings on behalf of the Executive Director, CATC when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in higher education required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with enterprise-wide information systems required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and Excel required.
• Strong collaboration skills required.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.
• An understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff and students required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience Banner by Ellucian and Argos systems preferred.

• Experience with smart technology preferred.

• Bilingual or multilingual is preferred.
