General Description:
The Department of English invites applications for full-time tenure-track Generalist for the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications will demonstrate an interest in contributing to the future of the Department and the life of the College. The Department seeks applicants who are actively engaged in teaching and committed to promoting student success both within and beyond the classroom.
The English Department at Community College of Philadelphia is a professional organization of nearly 300- full- and part-time faculty members teaching over 750 sections of courses each team on the Main Campus at your Regional Centers. We provide instruction in developmental reading and writing, English as a second language (ESL), college writing, literature, communication studies, mass media, theater, and creative writing. We offer Associate of Arts degrees in Communication Studies/Mass Media, English, and Theater. Our curriculum helps prepare students for careers in broadcast and print journalism, screenwriting, public relations, advertising, education marketing, and theater.
