Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Major Gifts in University Advancement, the successful candidate will be a motivated and capable individual with excellent communication skills; strong customer service orientation; and an ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and problem solve. It also requires learning and adapting to changing needs of the department. Previous experience in an academic setting desired. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about fundraising.
Serves as administrative assistant for four Major Gifts Officers, as well as Director of Principal Gifts and Director of Planned Giving. Responsible for all organizational, administrative and clerical duties in support of these individuals, including preparation of materials for cultivation and solicitation meetings, mailings and correspondence, and monthly expense reports. Routinely act as Clark University’s contact with donor prospects and senior administrators of Clark University. Must take initiative and work independently and comfortably under pressure as this position involves multiple, time-sensitive deadlines. This position requires strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated, high level computer skills, including Word, Excel and relational databases, Raisers Edge a plus.
Supports Director of Planned Giving in preparation of gift illustrations, and coordinates response mailings to planned gift prospect inquiries. Research and catalogue sensitive donor information for planned gifts, (including date of death, death certificates, family contact information). Experience in PG Calc a plus.
Preparation and updating of travel packets, including design and refreshing of print materials. Experience with Publisher a plus.
