We are looking for an energetic, results-oriented individual to build and lead a critical part of Clark’s business. In this highly visible role, you will have significant responsibility and make a strategic impact on our business. This role requires a strategic and customer focused individual.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The benefits manager works with the Total Rewards team to execute Clark’s strategy for its benefits and wellness programs.
Serve as a subject matter expert within and outside of the HR team.
Manage administration of Clark’s benefits and wellness programs. This includes medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, FSA, HSA, commuter, fitness reimbursement, EAP, COBRA, backup care, and wellness. Oversee monthly invoice processes. Develop and maintain vendor relationships for long term benefit strategies and administration as well as ongoing assessments and plan administration. Assist with implementation of new programs. Manage annual Total Rewards statements.
Manage federal and multi-state compliance requirements including 5500s, discrimination testing, ACA, DOL notifications, Medicare Part D notifications, state or contract “pay or play” initiatives, CMS COB requests, etc.
Manage Clark’s wellness program from strategy to program execution to assessment.
Partner with Corporate Communications on benefit communications through multiple delivery channels (e.g., Intranet, recorded webinars/videos, and mailings). Oversee and participate in monthly Benefits 101 webinar.
Oversee Leave of Absence and Job Accommodation programs; ensure coordination with federal, state, and local jurisdictional leave and state pay (e.g., California, DC, San Francisco, and Washington State) and internal sick and leave policies.
Supervise Benefits Specialists.
Collaborate with HRIS to implement benefit configuration changes, rate updates, system upgrades, etc. Coordinate changes with Payroll (Office and Craft).
Work with HR Business Partners and Payroll to coordinate benefits for exiting employees including documentation preparation.
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive benefits experience; managerial experience preferred
Extensive knowledge of federal and state requirements including ERISA and other benefit compliance requirements
HRIS experience, preferably Workday
Able to confidentially maintain personal information. Understands and respects the sensitive nature of information and manages this responsibility to ensure issues are handled discreetly, effectively and efficiently
SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, or related/similar certifications
