This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Essential Duties:
* Answering calls, taking messages and handling correspondence.
* Maintaining Microsoft Calendar and arranging appointments.
* Typing, preparing, and collating reports, filing.Organizing and servicing meetings (producing agendas and taking minutes).Managing databases and prioritizing workloads.
* Implementing new procedures and administrative systems.
* Liaising with relevant airport tenant organizations and clients.Creating, monitoring, and completing MS teamwork tasks and other similar work tasks.
* Logging or processing bills or expenses.Acting as a receptionist and/or meeting and greeting clients.
Additional duties may be required for this position.
Location: Chicago Department of Aviation – Chicago Midway Airport
Address: 5700 South Cicero Avenue
Shift: Monday – Friday
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, supplemented by one year of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NOTE: The candidate selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.
NOTE: Must be flexible for early and/or late meetings and weekends.
NOTE: This position requires a VADID LICENSE at the time of hire.
Selection Requirements: This position requires applicants to successfully Pass a skills assessment test IN ORDER TO BE interviewed. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. The interviewed candidate(s) who possess the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
* Previous work experience providing administrative support in the development of public information and
* programs.
